Sativa,
How many threads do you feel the need to post the same "neighbor's" letter? Seems like overkill to me, plus if your neighbor isn't willing to have their name attached to this letter you keep posting, how do we know they even exist?

This letter was written by someone other than me and there is a good chance that it will appear in the HTH with his name on it in the next few editions. I did not get his expressed permission to publish his name and according to the rules on the punaweb I was hesitant

Sativa obviously feels very strongly about this issue. However, if the anti-sustainability movement is to be truly meaningful, they must go on a lot-by-lot search through every subdivision in Puna, and file complaints with County for every single violation. Period.
Otherwise (as I, and perhaps others, suspect) it's really just a NIMBY vendetta against VGS.

Very flawed argument. How does being against the abuse of public property and against advocating for the violation of rules and laws for your own enrichment make you anti-sustainability? Not only would I be a NIMBY in this situation I'm a NOMW (not on my world). I thought enlightened hippies were supposed to be for preservation and for sharing, not environmental rape and theft.
The other half of the statement

was just as flawed and even more ridiculous. Not even worthy of rebuttal.
I find myself in the strange position of supporting Sativa (and RJ?) on this issue.

Thank you Kalakoa. This is the essence of the situation. A personal vendetta by RJ, Sativa and a couple others. If they were really concerned about everyone ( not just their enemies) following the codes and demand a crackdown, then we'll have a lot of newly homeless people in Puna. Aama crab syndrome by very bitter, hate filled people who haven't learned the lesson about throwing the first stone.

Homeless people don't need permits, and supporting them is a better use of my tax dollars, sounds like a win-win to me.

You were doing OK for awhile but it sounds like you need to take your meds again. You know the county doesn't have those kinds of resources. It's like the no spitting on the sidewalk law. If everybody started spitting on the sidewalk, there is no way to lock them all up. The point of the law is why act like a sleazebag and leave your hocked up gook where other people are walking. It is called consideration and many people don't seem to understand that.
The county and state only start enforcement if some situation becomes an unavoidable stage show, with jesters and clowns popping party poppers while thumbing their noses. Come on, get real. Nope, this is Puna.
