SB2274-Sustainable Living
I'll elaborate....

You and R.J. seem almost gleeful in your determination to bring a private citizen and a valuable community asset down to their knees. And there is the appearance of a political payoff for you and R.J. in it.

Just my opinion of course...

Assume the best and ask questions.

Vendetta."

I hate to waste one of post asking again. What vendetta?!!!

Do you know what vendetta means? you've been answered multiple times now and

I agree with rob's wording:

"your determination to bring a private citizen and a valuable community asset down to their knees"

interesting and reminds me of tiffany hunt trying to shutdown the store opening next to hers. - in other words - what are you getting out of it?

Good catch, Rob -- I'm not even looking at the political aspect.

It seems to many (myself included) that these various "unpermitted" activities would be tolerated if they took place elsewhere such that "a certain very vocal minority" did not have to suffer their presence. Also known as the "NIMBY principle".

Still waiting for a constructive response. Here are some sample questions:

1. Where should activities like SPACE and HVC be located?

2. How will necessary services (education, commerce) be provided to the community?

3. Regulatory compliance is expensive. If no public funding is available, how should these privately-held entities cover their costs?

Well let's just say that I don't. So I went and looked it up.

ven•det•ta
: a very long and violent fight between two families or groups
: a series of acts done by someone over a long period of time to cause harm to a disliked person or group
Full Definition of VENDETTA
1
: blood feud
2
: an often prolonged series of retaliatory, vengeful, or hostile acts or exchange of such acts <waged a personal vendetta against those who opposed his nomination>

There is no family here. No group. Just some private citizens who were successful at stopping a piece of dangerous and ambiguous legislation written by a nonprofit and their attorneys.

Nice talking to you all but I have things to do.

Goodbye.

SB2274 was neither ambiguous nor dangerous, and County would have well hobbled it before finalizing implementation, which in itself would have taken some years.

No ... I suspect that a "group of concerned private citizens" have done a very nice favor for County by taking this matter conveniently out of their jurisdiction. It will be interesting to see how this plays later in the election season.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Below is a pahoated quote from another thread on this same issue. This should take care of the vendetta crap. We don't have a
vendetta just a bone to pick. Is that alright? This should let you know how serious it is when everybody wakes up!

"Here is a picture that was run last year of the chopped down ohia logs, to be used for corrals, such a respect for this truly Hawaiian tree:"

Okay. You can call a duck a hammer, chicken, dog, or cat. But if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

It'd been clear you're part of some sort of 'group' which includes RJ Hampton and has a vendetta vs - SPACE / BellyAcres / VGS / Graham Ellis - call it whatever you wish.

Yes you are no im not yes you are no im not yes you are no im not...

Actually, your earlier post suggests you're too busy to waste time on this argument.

I also have yet to see any constructive suggestions on dealing with these issues.

It's hypocritical to claim you're "protecting these natural resources" or "fighting unethical lawmakers" or whever -- everything is clearly focused on taking VGS down with whatever means are available.

Hence my use of the term "vendetta". Others might call it an "attitude problem". In any case, failing to disclose your true motives makes your organization (if it could be called that) no better than those you despise. Congratulations on "sinking to their level", and a true shame that these energies aren't focused more productively.

Ironically, people sometimes supply their own best examples.

Here is a picture that was run last year of the chopped down ohia logs...

So ... you picked up the phone right that very moment and called DLNR, and it's just taken them a year to respond? Because in the years since the trees were cut, nobody could manage to get a picture until Big Island Weekly found this little gem? Nobody noticed that SPACE was built with Ohia poles and thought to ask where they came from?

Seems like the DLNR issue might have been better political poision than starting an ethics investigation against Ruderman, especially given that Ruderman did nothing wrong...
