biometric gun safes.

Wow Rene, that's a huge safe ! Some will argue that a quick keyboard punch is faster than the biometric, in an emergency situation that one second can save your life. You can also argue that when your heart is racing, you may want to just have to put your finger down, this way you don't fumble over numbers. I like the BARSKA because you have both options!

You're talking apples and oranges. Your "Barska" is for having an readily accessible marginally secure location for a home defense weapon. The American Security is the mostly secure place where you store your guns. I suppose either could be biometric or combination. Ideally for Puna you would want both and an alarm.

I am not a gun collector. Although I appreciate diff makes and models, for me it is simply for security and the occasional trip to the range. Deserts Q was about biometric, so I suggested a biometric safe. I do not see reason for biometrics in your storage safe, there is no reason for it.

If more people had true gun safes and not gun lockers, gun theft would go way down. If there was one law that would truly have an impact on gun safety and keep weapons out of the wrong hands, it would have to be requiring every gun owner to have a safe and all weapons be locked in that safe or a lock box at all times.
I also like the Vline push button combo boxes too. They have models that fit between wall joist and even single pistol boxes. You press a quick sequence of buttons and it opens right up. http://www.amazon.com/V-Line-Compact-Key..._7?ie=UTF8&qid=1405593355&sr=8-7&keywords=Vline+lock+box

Rene,

what do you mean by gun locker ?

There are safes and there are lockers. A locker is just a metal box or cabinet that can be easily pried open with simple tools. A safe is a lot harder to open, not impossible but much harder than a locker. A locker is just one step above hiding your weapons under the bed. http://www.amazon.com/HOMAK-HS30103660-8..._4?ie=UTF8&qid=1405622464&sr=8-4&keywords=Gun+locker

Yeah, not sure why anyone would trust their arms in what is basically a bread box.
