I guess I'm in the minority, but when I saw RJ start her speech, I saw it as an evangelical performance. Like she had switched roles. Her voice and actions would have been about right behind a pulpit and denouncing the devil or the devil's work.
Unfortunately, she was too physically close to Tiffany and got into her personal space when she slammed the newspaper down. Otherwise the newspaper move would have played as part of the performance, I mean if she had been standing at a pulpit and Tiffany weren't right there. As it was, RJ miscalculated the effect.
It seemed to me at that moment, RJ had decided to be an evangelical reverend and not a politician, not a serious player in the Council race in terms of winning, serious in terms of protesting the hypocrisy of the BIC questionnaire and the arm's length farce and the junior high school level of the roast.
