Hawaiian Acres Farmers market
#31
JRW thanks for the suggestion but this issue has so evolved. as you can see there's just no talking to be done. Individuals wanting this market will not listen to reason and only become more vindictive when attempts are made.

I wondered what it was too. Thanks

birchl - Well lets see, since you are new to H.A.
To sell at a Farmers Market you need to have your G.E.Tax # and all transactions recorded and taxed.
This placard should be at any ones disposal so the public knows who you are. A true farmers market , is what people grow to sell, from their farms, not LED TVs,Not Honda generators,Not misc tools.farm products grown on your farm.
The children's park is named after Danny Wolverton who was a dear friend of ours.He was also with a few others the original Community Watch.
When we take our grand children to play in the park at H.A.C.Building,it is an honor to remember those who helped our community thrive.
One of the office managers, a woman, she sits all day long smoking tobacco at the door of the community center, talking on her cell phone.
This pollution is bad for one of the grand children who has asthma .
We have tried to tell her this but she says we do not need to be there and the law states, that any one smoking cigs needs to be a minimum of 20 feet away from a buildings entrance.
The public drinking is another issue, along with the sometimes used syringes and tiny little zip loc bags with white residue on the ground in the play ground area itself.
So birchl open drug use is an ongoing issue and yes we will take photo's and call law enforcement as part of our duty as good neighbors in the effort to keep H.A. drug and crime free.
Another option for those who insist on this right to sell their farm produce,is to go Maku'u farmers market and peddle your farm grown items there.Or have the gathering on saturdays at your own homes.

Sounds like Mimosa and the other cranks are not long for this world so I forsee the HA Market in full swing very soon. Time and tide wait for no one.

When I attended, a car careened around the corner firing a paintball gun rapidly into the crowded market and lobbing water balloons!

After we got up from the ground and dusted ourselves off I yelled "Someone Call the Police!"

An old timer remarked; "Son, That WAS the Police!".

I am seriously interested in having a legal firehouse , with legal electricity installed in for the fireman that may have to respond to a fire in the acres at night. my homeowners insurance policy IS linked into having a working firehouse as are most of the other property owners. I am interested in having open and clear drivable roads so emergency vehicles can get in unblocked on a Saturday if needed. and I am seriously concerned that the community center meet all permit requirements and insurance regulations , to insure that the center stays there for Everyone to use . its in the rules and charter of HACA .
the parking continues to violate the rules read into the minutes at the last county planning department hearing . people can go look it up if interested.
oh yes as to the drugs read back on Hawaiian acres google groups you will find info on that . as to the individual that was asked to stop selling , he is once again in jail for ????wait for it.... selling.

Just a bunch of nimby crybabies who don't want to share. I want the community center for this or that but not what these other people want. Sounds like someone never learned how to share.

The planning commission found no evidence of roads being blocked.
