Big Island Circus Fined $50,000 by DLNR

Aren't County and/or State in the wrong for creating an unsustainable environment "for the children"? Or is the argument that "schools are provided, not our fault you have to drive so far"?

What about the parents who relocated their children so far from the schools?

Choices.... We all make them. They didn't have a right to build on that land. Case closed....

HVC - Hawaii Volcano Circus - didn't cut down those trees. The circus didn't build a horse paddock. The circus didn't build a bunch of jungalows on state land. I don't know firsthand, but I really can't imagine the circus got a dime from any rent collected from any jungalows. The circus certainly isn't growing any pot plants anywhere.

DLNR is confusing the tenant and the landlord. I think DLNR made a mistake citing HVC for these infractions - the land owners of the 10 acre parcel known as bellyacres need to fix their mess - but it has nothing to do with the circus!

Some people have such hatred for Graham that they're trying to destroy everything he's touched, forgetting that there are hundreds of people who have worked with/for the circus, and have nothing to do with horse paddocks, or jungalows, or whatever.

Well, is it not Graham who keeps pointing to the organizations he touches/is legally connected to, while disavowing personal knowledge or responsibility? Why not tell Graham to take responsibility and stop bringing down the innocents then?

And why doesn't the HVC distance itself from him if it disapproves of such actions?
Why did the land board fine both Belly Acres (Village Green Society) and HVC? If HVC had no part of it, can it not appeal?

Why did no one make an appearance at the hearing and testify to HVC's non-involvement?

I'm not asking in a sarcastic tone. I really would like to know, and if you understand how the inter-relationships work, terry, perhaps you can shed light.

Kathy
PS. I think that explaining the whole disaster as a product of personal hatred is a very skewed and unproductive way to look at it. Even if the motives were totally not righteous (which I don't believe at all but for sake of argument), the decision to enforce laws has nothing to do with how of from whom law enforcement obtains information. If the information is bad, it goes nowhere. If it's on point, the investigation goes somewhere.

Remember, the whole stretch of that street is family and right next to them is a commercially zoned store (owned by a Hawaiian) that is growing and from there anything is possible.

So your issue appears less with what Graham did, and that he wasn't "Kanaka Maoli". You don't seem to have a problem (you seem to actively encourage) the flaunting those same rules when it doesn't align with your racial interests.

Rj, do you share the same view? That the rules are only for those of the lesser races?

Unless it moves down the street to the Kingdom of Hawaii where everything is apparently exempt from the rules and laws that govern the rest of the island.

What positive lesson does it teach the keiki by Graham and HVC failing to respect

Is it anything like the lessons taught by County's failure to enforce? (Or, as suggested, the creation of illegal subdivisions to begin with ... or perhaps the later refusal to allow any "neighborhood commercial" as suggested by the PCDP ... otherwise assuming that all those keiki live in fully-permitted dwellings ...)

Seems like all these problems are eventually related to Hawaii's "unique" system of land-use regulations. Rezoning the high-density ag subdivisions to match their actual residential use would fix many of these issues.

Terry, it is Graham that put his nonprofit Hawaii Volcano Circus (HVC) in jeopardy and you can all claim innocents now but I don't buy it.

For the record we don't hate Graham; we feel sorry for him. He is the one who blew a thirty year dream not us. What we care about is the massive tree harvest, the rentals and encroachment on state land and bill 2274 that was created to cover up this mess.

I would like to know from you, Terry Way, as member of HVC were you aware that the Hawaii Sustainable Community Alliance was using Hawaii Volcano Circus's tax exempt status to get tax exempt donations for their organization?

All by himself, with no help from anyone. Got it.

Graham Ellis,
This is so libelous and off base. Go ahead and make all the complaints you want. I only have two more things to do and that is to snatch your 501©3 and bury it six feet deep and deport you as has been done in the past.

No hate, got it.

This reminds me of Pablo Escobar in Colombia..

The biggest narco the world has ever known.

He built schools, tennis courts, soccer fields, zoos, brought water where needed, built homes for the poor, and even offered to pay the national debt, if he was not prosecuted.

He blew up the most exclusive club in Colombia. My brother was there..

He had a bunch of bombs go off on major shopping centers. He had politicians killed, that were after him.

So, if your kids were benefited by this murderer, law breaking ass, does it make it OK, because your kids had a great time at his Zoos? Or his schools, or playgrounds?

When you are breaking the law, and under the disguise that your kids get to have fun, or educated, and that you are doing something good for the community, does it make it OK?

Yeah but I don't hate Graham. He annoys me. He disappointed me. Terry, I know this must really be bothering you because your wife's name and signatures are on some of those tax returns.

I am gonna ask you again or have you been advised by an attorney not to answer questions like this?
