birch , don't know where you come up with the lava tube scenario ? are you referring to class status ,or distribution of wealth? in your "poo" comment, what is your point.
you started this thread because the county went to your property for a permit violation. you said you don't have permits . what are you after sympathy ? help ? or just want to strike out at people , pick a direction. its like talking to 2 people ,one inside the other.

Yes you do. If you didn't finalize the permit within the time limits...you are out of compliance, no matter how you try to spin it.

ok, leilani. however i can easily deal with 'the permit' problem. so lets just say that the actual permit is the LEAST of my problems with this little scenario. it is the fact that i am able to deal with it, that enables me to draw attention to it. as i keep saying, imagine if i was living in a tin shack with three kids, a compost loo, and two part time jobs (coz you can't get one job to pay enough). tell me what a dreadful person i must be? tell me why you think that level of spite and potential harm is 'ok' in your eyes? tell me why you think the county has some sort of right to conduct their business by fear.

Well, then, you'd be too busy to piss anyone off, so there would be no need to inflict "compliance" as a means of retaliation.

It's the best they can do with such a limited tax base. If everyone didn't cheat on their property taxes (not to mention evading GET by ordering from Amazon), then County would have plenty of funding for annual door-to-door inspections of every single TMK.

kapoho joe - everybody is terrified of them!! even more so than the police or CPS!! its quite astounding. the most repetitive advice i have been given is for gods sake don't upset the inspectors!! i understand that they are stretched to braking point, and it is as much as they can do to investigate what they can, but to compound the illusion that they are a force to be reckoned with by showing up on 'surprise' visits, and harassing someone is totally unacceptable. there is no good reason for not requesting an appointment. there is no good reason for not explaining EXACTLY why they were there. there is no good reason for not completely reassuring me AT THE TIME that my world was not actually going to be turned upside down by this.

okay its pity party time again . the county is not inflicting fear they are conducting business . if you can easily deal with the permits then just do it.
