Protestors arrested on Mauna Kea 07/31/15

Gypsy, it's good to read your concern for the well-being of the telescope. Don't worry, all of that has been taken into account.
Just let the scientists do their job.

Now folks visiting the summit for prayers will have to explain and include hundreds if not thousands of strangers (tourists) in their prayers... I love all people like you all do, just not in my face as I am asking for guidance and forgiveness.

Do you find that the summit of Mauna Kea is the only place on the Big Island from which you can pray, and ask for guidance and forgiveness? What about the thousands of other quiet and remote areas on island? The deep forests? Mauna Loa? Kilauea? Green Mountain? Miles of remote cliffs, pools, and beaches along the ocean?

You can get guidance and forgiveness right here on Punaweb.

What about the guy you punched in the face on the golf course, do you love him like all people?

fwiw many many people here (including so called 'Hawaiians'/protestors) have no clue about La Ho'i ho'i Ea or especially what happened in early-mid 1843

La Ho'i ho'i Ea
the 'Hawaiian holiday' based on a day (July 31st) 172 years ago where a British Capt fixed what another stupid power hungry British Capt did 6 months before...

yet now (today) these so called 'Hawaiians' fly their 197 yr old (real) Hawaiian flag upside down (I guess to disrespect King Kamehameha I ??, because thats what they are doing in reality), ........
......or even stupider, dump this real flag that King Kamehameha I designed (red white blue stripes w/union jack in corner) and fly/promote a flag that was designed in the year 2000 by some $$ hungry clowns on Oahu trying for sell t-shirts and bumper stickers... aka the 'fake modern rasta colored Hawaiian flag with spears and shield'

Thanks, SuperGu (and Chunkster). I missed that comment first time round, and yes, it made me laugh as well!

As we all know by now, mountains are sacred, and science is a defilement.

Where are the protestors on Mauna Loa?

Just wondering, if any protesters camped overnight again and if so, were they given citations? Why are the two illegal structures still present?

Above link will show the most recent picture of VIS and shows the structures still present.

When the protestors do it, it's not illegal.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to pay my property taxes (as required by law).

Gypsy why would TMT let thousands of tourists come? Do not current protestors essentially guarantee no tourists will be allowed to see anything?
