Who are "those responsible"? The FDA says that the GMOs they regulate are perfectly safe for consumption.
I think you'll be against GM technology until someone (maybe anyone) comes along and "proves" that they're not safe.

You're quite correct, so until then simply tell us just what they are.
Got any problems with doing that?

No I'm not. If you read the link you would've known.

As much as people like to whine about teflon, gmo's and global warming this is probably the safest a person has been in human history.

Disease, clean water and plentiful food have spoiled us to whine about little things of no consequence. If you want to get back to pristine anti-science time, fly to Africa. I am sure they would share a hut with you. You can spend the day wondering if that last drink of water is going to kill you.

Anti-vaccinations, non-pasteurized milk, etc. I just can't wrap my head around the idiocy. Let's stop the practices that stopped massive amounts of death and suffering.

The future of humanity of forward, advancing science for human benefit, not trying to revive some romanticized version of the past that would most likely kill you in a month.

So are you implying that I'm anti-science? Well I'm not.
Every age before us was the best for its contemporaries.
Doesn't mean we couldn't do/be better than we are, and we will be.

That's not what this is all about. Again, probably did not read the article.

Teflon yes, Aluminum, not so much. Agreed regarding China. Have you noticed Chinese produce showing up on grocery store shelves?

Regarding the OP, yes, he is mixing up teflon and GMO by trying to allude that GMO producers are trying to cover up something. But OMG, tobacco!! GMO!! They must be the same, right?

Not a new problem, in our highly domesticated lifestyles we gain vulnerabilities to predators and parasites we might otherwise have immunity to. On the other hand, for the most part we are living longer and there are more of us. GMO is just more in the same direction.

You're gonna wait a long time. Like I said else where, simply tell us whether or not what we buy is or isn't GMO, how hard is that?
The article isn't about Teflon per se.

Well you're close, but if they're not hiding, then just mark the packaging.
Still better to read the article.

What is safe for consumption?

Water - Proven to cause death via drowning and consumption of too much. Would not be considered 100% safe.

Peanuts - Can cause death to those that are allergic.

Strawberries, eggs, wheat, soy, milk, shell fish, mercury from fish, saturated fats, sugar. If they banned all the foods that have caused more real harm then GMO, the country would starve to death.

If you pretend to care about food safety then let's hold all food to the same safety standard, not just today's boogeyman.

If you're worried about stuff that can kill you, don't stop at food. Consider alcohol and cigarettes (legal, long-term poisonous). The gas that goes in your car is toxic and creates carcinogenic byproducts during manufacture -- before you even spill some or breathe the fumes, let alone what it does to the environment after it's burned. Excessive exposure to sunlight, etc, etc.

Whoo 1 million points to Mtviewdude for hitting the nail on the head.

I wish this forum had 'like' and 'dislike' options for posters. X amount of likes or dislikes would result in interesting categories such as the # of posts categories you see under the screen name like "Punatic" or "Kama'aina".

I imagine categories such as "undeniably fear-mongering" and "Community Hero", though I imagine certain individuals like HOTPE and Kalakoa would be more suited to define such labels due to their undeniable wit!

Maybe the next version of punaweb - allegedly forthcoming? per Rob's recent topic - could include this type of mechanism.
