What the heck? That pile was put up there during the 3rd and 4th flows. People are only noticing it now? It might be because there is a lot of clearing going on, making it more visible.

The shopping center is like a strip mall. There is the owner, then he leases out the individual spaces. Shopping centers have cornerstone businesses like grocery stores. There wasn't any contract, just KTA intending to lease a space. The problem the shopping center is most of the big renters have pulled out, so is the $20 million construction investment ever going to break even and start making a profit? It looks like the investors are on indefinite hold.

My understanding from someone who did a bunch of the D9 work on the Bryson's site is that the project is continuing to move forward, mostly with infrastructure work. They have been told by the county that they will not be given any occupancy permits until the roundabout and other Pahoa traffic work is done, so they aren't too far behind schedule.
