"I don't think that it is appropriate to hide or conceal the fact that we have an awful lot of dummies in the district. Puna is what it is and a major vein of stupid runs through the district. Wish I could be more optimistic."

Well said, sir!!

I think pog missed one category:

3. Posting YouTube links - dancing around the issue without actually taking a stand.

Mahalo, and aloha, pog. That is all. [Smile]

Mr. Tucker, mahalo for providing this venue for discussion. Albeit trying at times, it is of great value. Aloha, Sir.

There should be more posts started on Puna related topics but there really isn't that much going on. Seems like the super hot weather affected all the fruit, tons of growth but little tiny fruits. Other than that, just kicking it. It's actually good to see these issues rise and fall. Was just thinking about Occupy the other day, how high the emotional level got with that. Now, it's ancient history, to be replaced with something else. It's good to see Puna portrayed as bizarre and poorly as possible, this discourages malihini transplant attempts.

"Aloha also means goodbye. Aloha!"

Sure Ted, but what do you tell your ( i y h a ) malihini friends when they ask ?

Maybe you can lead the charge with a positive, fresh topic from you for starters ?

I will add this: We've survived a lot so far and these things tend to come and go in waves.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Punaweb moderator

Jus so you's know, "stupid" is not limited to the Puna web. I've been on message boards before they were created, E-mail data bases where you'd get an e-mail every time somebody wrote back to a group.. Idiot's, threats, including death, the insanity was rapid at the first sign dopes could become anonymous. Then bulletin boards were fashioned, moderators, but the fact is, anywhere anonymous idiots can grab attention, it is what it is, proving that, there are always the few people who are lot more vicious, behind your back, than face front, in person.

Anonymity has exposed those who have no, or limited control over the id. [wink]

The moderator says the problem is stupidity in Puna. But that doesn't explain the descent in the last year or so into mean-spirited bile. I also have pretty much given up on Punaweb for this exact reason... it was once a regular part of my week, now I just check in for curiosity once a month or so.
In fact the moderator has created this beast by not only allowing but encouraging the lowest forms of communication, including personal attacks, name-calling and hate-speech. I look forward to someone starting a civil exchange blog; it's clear that this moderator has no interest in improving the level of discourse here and seems to enjoy the mud. His expressed disgust with Puna is reflected in the discourse promoted.
