I'm sorry Rob. ( Punatalk ) Suggestions ???
#21
i may not like reading what some people post , but when people want only certain individuals to be allowed to post things that is censorship . and that is wrong . i am very tired of the "politically correct " .
what some perceive as a negative could be the truth and fact of the matter, and sometimes reality is unpleasant.

Mendo, Rob has tried, many times in the past, to make sure everyone abides by the the registration agreement, which includes:
" In your use of these forums, you agree that you will not post any information which is vulgar, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws."

Throughout the years he has spent many hours moderating the kindergarten, and has even reached out to the Punaweb community to establish an advisory board to assist. Yet time & again, the kindergarteners go on their little petty rages, violating their honor in their own registration & go against the conditions of their registration....

(EDIT: THIS SENTENCE HAS TWO PARTS: THE ACTION OF MENDO IN TAKING ONE OUT OF CONTEXT IS NOT COOL!!!) I can not honestly understand why Rob continues to put up with the shenanigans of these childish egotists, & still takes the time to provide this forum, but I am glad that he does, and wish everyone on this forum realizes how lucky we are that he does, as even now with all of the pettiness, there are a few gem posts!

Thank you, Rob, for putting up with all of the shenanigans of the kindergarteners!

ADDED: I would love to think that people posting would have enough respect that when they paraphrase my work, that they PLEASE keep it in context...

That's what I was thinking Carey, but could never have stated so well!

Thanks Carey for expressing what I'm sure many of us feel.

Carey says "I can not honestly understand why Rob continues to put up with the shenanigans of these childish egotists." I agree. If ever he wants to stop doing this, he can always choose to actually enforce the stated rules and make the forum a safe place for civil people. I hope someday he does so.

Most haoles move to Puna for very different reasons most non-haole do. Most Haoles fall in love with their piece of paradise. Most non-haole, like their haole counterparts are non-puna natives. Meaning...they probably didn't grad from Pahoa high, Know who Aunty Em was before she was a councilwoman, or have ties to a Keli'iho'omalu, a Ka'awaloa, or a Hauanio. Most Puna residents...haole and non-haole are relatively new residents. Again, many haole move to Puna for a slice or paradise. Most non-haole move because it is cheap. Lots that are at least an acre. Cheaper rent. Even non-permitted structures that certainly beat being homeless. Economics dictate the cultural fabric of the landscape in any locale -- Puna not withstanding. Many of these non-haole residents have been priced out of renting on Oahu and Maui. Many have been priced out of HILO! Therefore, they load up the truck and move to beverleee....I mean Hawaiian Beaches. Economic realities dictate the Puna we live in for most non-haole. Now before some of you get your panties in a bunch, take some time to see that I do leave room for variance in stating "most." There are exceptions for sure.

...So what I was trying to get at in my previous post is this -- the cheaper it is, the more likelihood of characters in da 'hood. Some call them stupid. Some call them family. And we all live in a yellow submarine.

It's just a message board. I think some of you are taking it too serious. People have disagreements so now you don't want to post anymore?

People could always just exercise a little self control instead of insisting that Rob impose external control on the forum members.

Think about how many posts are made every day. The man has a farm and business to run, policing the forum would be a full time job. How hard can it be to skip the name calling and personal attacks? Vigorous debate is a wonderful thing, the sort of personal attacks that have chased out so many long term members in the last year are not so wonderful.
