While I'm not all that pleased with the annual rate increase on vehicle registration fees, nor in supporting the billionaires who own the auto insurance companies who also help regulate our insurance laws, that said I'd bet most of these caravan folk are the product of generational welfare benefits. When they grow up getting free food, insurance, rent, utilities and God knows what else it makes perfect sense they feel no responsibility to put in their fair share to keeping our roads functional and safe.

Just like County's refusal to share FTR with "private" roads, along with all those who refuse to pay their road dues and/or ensure that their association uses that money to maintain the roads.

After all, nothing says "safety" like a pothole the size of a Kia -- which then doesn't count towards the "official" traffic fatalities!

I think they are driving around in clusters and I got caught in one the other night. There are about 3 following each other really fast, one guy in a tiny black car stays in the side mirror blind spot, one guy pulls ahead to get in front, the other guy stays behind to tailgate, the front guy speeds up and slows down for no apparent reason, all in the driving rain. Yeah, these are mixed race locals but there are pono locals and pilau locals. Guess this is one way to celebrate VM day (Victory Maunakea).

Weird. What would be the purpose of this? Intimidation? Forcing a situation so they can film a confrontation? or attract police?

so be it!

So another freebie for the EV crowd?

Media Release

Hawai#699;i Island police will conduct island-wide DUI checkpoints and patrols throughout the holiday weekend and intend to enforce all traffic laws, as always.

The public is reminded that a driver’s license, registration, license plates, registration and safety sticker are required to operate a motor vehicle on public roads.

Erroneous information has been disseminated claiming that these requirements violate the Constitutional “right to travel.” That is not accurate. The right to travel protects a citizen’s right to freely travel to other states and does not provide a fundamental right to operate a motor vehicle. The U.S. Supreme Court has long held that states have the power to regulate the use of motor vehicles on their roadways.

The Hawai#699;i Police Department wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend.

It is part of some game. There is the other one on Hwy 11 into town and 3 or 4 will be chasing each other, weaving in and out through traffic. Now, there was some drive by shooting, small sedan shooting up a truck. Somebody put out the instructions on F***book, "Swarm!". It is just more and more proof of Socal thug culture being adopted and replacing the original Hawaiian culture. Soon, it will be what all the mainland transplants want, a suburb of LA.
