Lined up concrete piers for shearwall foundation?
#1
I saw a picture of a house underconstruction and piers with straps were lined up to form corners for the shearwalls to set on! If thats inspector approved, that sure is a lot less work them forming and pouring concrete...cheaper I bet.

That is the way our house plans are. The shearwalls are made up with the corner piers 4' apart and then a frame work of 2x4's. It is then covered with the siding extending down to the bottom.

And so these went through the permit process...if so, that would be so much easier than forms and poured concrete.

Nancy, I don't think you can change your plans once they have been approved by the county. You would have to talk to the person that drew up the plans to see what other changes would have to be done to allow you to make a major change to your foundation.
