Voter Fraud Alleged.. Tiffany Edwards Hunt
#11
Fair enough and understandable, RJ. My neighbor thinks Tiffany had a vendetta against Greggor Ilagan and just wanted to vote against him, but that seems a stretch. Anyone else have any ideas?

dakine - There are 3 separate "residences" involved in this.

BTW, Tiffany seems to have a vendetta against almost everyone, based upon the position of the stars at any given moment. The manner in which she attacked so many people, has some bearing here. It has now "come back around". Trying to proclaim oneself as a reporter does not make you immune.

"It is a very long story from 2008 to the grand jury indictment in 2016. I just have to wait until the trial is over as I may be called as a witness and I don't want to compromise the prosecutors case. Fair enough?"

But you have no problem contributing to Tiffany's defense fund, even if it was just a dollar. Whether that plays a part in in the case, I have no idea, but it does come across as particularly spiteful and something the defense might well point out.

I'm no fan of Tiffany, but jeez, RJHampton's behavior is far from admirable.

"I think the only crime Tiffany is 'guilty' of is trying to be a politician. Claiming a home owner's exemption on a property where she doesn't live (as if nobody walks that line) is a crime when you get caught but had she not signed up to run for elected office it would have never been an issue."

Breaking the law is only a crime if you get caught? Where do you draw the line? If you think someone is a criminal just for trying to be a politician but it's not a crime to vote in a place they're not allowed to, by law, then criminal law has just taken a turn I didn't expect it to.

The case is not about claiming a home owner's exemption by the way. That was dealt with separately.

In 2016, the two issues of tax evasion and voter fraud are being pulled apart but they were happening together during the time frame of concern. The underlying evidence points to deliberate abuse of the residency requirement. While the voter fraud may be prosecuted on its own, the tax evasion maneuvers will probably be admissible evidence.

The hypocrisy of presenting an image of journalistic integrity while at the same time, scheming to pay less tax and cheat the election system is the most reprehensible. It doesn't help that the same people that are fixated on politics being the source of their miserable lives are now defending this behavior of corruption. Tiffany is not a politician, she tried to be one.

Did anyone else notice that in the Star Advertiser story, Tiffany's attorney Brian De Lima claimed that “Hunt resided with her husband Jeff and two children in an attached dwelling in the back of his surf shop in Puna prior to 2013." To those who know her personally -- did you ever think the Hunt family LIVED primarily behind the surf shop for five years?

Hawaii residency law for voter registration is very clear, if you own multiple properties, you still only have one home.  You cannot pick the one you want because you prefer to vote in that district. Your home is the residence where you live, sleep, go back to, the center of your home life -- regardless of occasional time spent at another living quarters.

I don't know what Tiffany is going to do. I know it took a long time for Richard Nixon to fall on his sword.[Big Grin]

I don't even understand what the question means. "your's"? Am I being accused of voter fraud, tax fraud or making a vindictive contribution to a defense fund?

Nope. Not a chance. And her numerous blog posts over the years about living in Hawaiian Acres, should be further proof.

When she was an admin to Auntie Emily, where did the county list her address for her pay stubs...I bet it wasn't the surf shop and if it was, she then committed tax fraud on the Hilo property!
