Don't make this mistake!

"Oh, & I got a slingshot at Harbor Freight & my aim is pretty good at those chicken eating dogs."

If one can't wait, they sell slingshots at Del's in Hilo. Over by the BB guns and rat poison.

I got mine at J. Hara's, works great at discouraging feral roosters from adopting the big autograph tree on the neighboring empty lot.

Looks like it will be chess.com, instead of over-the-board live play for a few weeks. Malama pono!

Yep! I missed the Wednesday chess geezers at the Ainaloa long house this week. Don't think I'll make it to the Hilo Library Saturday either.

I chased them off, but slipped on the wet centipede grass, fell in some weird position, and something went in and near my right knee. Could not get up. My wife came out and helped me up, and the 2x4 became my cane. Boy, is that knee swollen! Been icing it for hours. My wife went and borrowed a cane my daughter had (as she had knee problem recently too).

And, I'll be 63 a few months. To think that just yesterday, I was at my gym working out. About 25 minutes on the eliptical, and then hit the weights. No doctor yet. For one thing, I couldn't get in a car now, and maybe couldn't get out. At least, my wife was a nurse for many years.

Can I start this day over again??

Well, it got more bruising the last couple of days. But, where the bruises are there's really little or no pain. Still swollen up pretty big. I emailed my doctor, and they said r.i.c.e., which equals rest, ice (several times a day for 20 minutes), compress (like an ac bandage..haven't been doing that), and elevate.

I'll be using the cane for a while. Went with the wife to do a couple thing in Hilo, and just got back. She drove. If I put the passenger seat back, and then lowered the back, so I was more inclined, I could just get my bad leg into the car. I can sit in a chair with that leg bent. Not 90 degrees bent, but bent a bit. Oh, and I AM taking Aleve, one every 12 hours. I'm not always in pain...just if I bend the leg, or put weight the wrong way on that leg. I'm sitting back right now with the leg elevated and icing it.

Good to hear, did you make make appointment ? Yes nagging you !!! LOL. Get some crutches 'till someone looks at it proper. Rice is so generic, but if you putting weight on it, its going to be pissed off since it gets swollen AGAIN so still ice it yes. Can ice longer but 15-20 minutes on direct skin not good for skin. Wet towel is better.

But before you go to bed or are REALLY done for the day, the super hot wrap or let shower water on it. DO NOT put any weight on it after that, pretend you only have one leg.

I really hope you just strained it, the bruising appearing could actually be a good thing as surrounding tissue reacting to being overloaded on the fall but nothing torn or broke.

That said, YOU NEED and X-RAY !!! Since it still swollen, remember, the pain might move around mysteriously.

p.s. Are you the guy with the airguns ?
