Let's just settle this as Kamehameha would have.

I agree with imagtek's last couple of posts.

The official TMT site visit was yesterday on Maunakea

In the video it seems they were disappointed that 187 feet isn't really that big after all.
Hopefully just the first in a series of incorrect assumptions about the TMT that can finally be set straight. “We’ve got to be as clear-headed about human beings as possible, because we are still each other’s only hope,” James Baldwin to Margaret Mead in the book A Rap On Race

They were lucky to visit on a day when the winds were almost calm. On a more typical day, that balloon would have been flying all over the place.
I was impressed with a comment from the judge taken from http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2016/0...sted-case/ "“They’re worried that if anything happens, somebody’s gotta get down,” Amano explained, “we can’t be held up someplace.”" The TMT protestors did not give that opportunity to people on the summit on the first day they blocked the road. They prevented people from getting down to lower altitudes. It's fortunate there was no emergency at the time or their actions didn't cause an emergency.

Dakine decided to quietly delete his personal attack from a few days ago. Another one of his hit and run posts.

You can turn on a feature in Gmail that requires you to do some arithmetic before you can send that email - after a set time (e.g. 10pm)..
Maybe a good idea for some people.

For me, it's no problem when people post. On the other hand, dishonesty and deceit pisses me off no end.
Edited the wording.

I hope it's ok to copy and paste this here !
"It’s about opportunity The University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization projects that Hawaii’s construction sector will peak and then start declining within about a year. This is one more reason we support the Thirty Meter Telescope. Its construction jobs will help our island’s economy during the telescope’s 10-year building phase and throughout the 50-year life of the project. We also believe the broken UH teaching telescope, Hoku Kea, should not be decommissioned. A replacement, state-of-the-art telescope is here already, but talk has been about relocating it to the UH-Hilo campus. Wait — put a telescope almost at sea level in the rainiest city in the U.S., rather than at one of the best astronomy locations in the world? Why would we do that? We need to support the TMT and Hoku Kea to help our economy and increase our students’ learning opportunities. These goals are so much more positive than Palikapu Dedman digging up our ancestors’ bones and relocating them to an unpermitted ahu on Mauna Kea in an effort to block construction. I vigorously protest his doing that. Who gives him the right to speak for me? I want opportunities for our keiki to become excited and knowledgeable about science. I want opportunities that help keep our economy on track. It’s what we all want. The Hoku Kea and TMT will provide these opportunities. Richard Ha Hilo " |
