The link you posted (and
construction estimate) was from 2014. Construction costs have escalated since that time, which is pretty self evident how the bids came out.

Yes now that fuel is cheaper for the equiptment ... it should cost more.

I posted slightly erroneous information. The scope of the project is as followed:

This project will provide acceleration and deceleration lanes on highway 11 to facilitate safer entrance and exit to and from the UHH Farm.
It doesn't include a traffic signal as a part of this project.

Fuel is only one component of construction costs. I've observed how bids how come out over the post several years. Most contractors have a backlog of projects, raw materials cost more, less workers on the bench= higher bids.

Well if it's workers they need.. I can operate anything that uses hydraulics.. I grew up in a mining business.. dozer.. loaders. Excavator. ... I do it for the fun. Not the money.
