Assuming you walk every Sunday, that's 159ish walks. A few dogs bother you after you have "seen hundreds" over the past three years.

Why the bitterness towards Gypsy ?

A few dogs bother you

I'm getting in my car now pog.
I'm driving away.
Don't worry though, I won't be calling Rob to police this thread, as some members are prone to do.

Please understand that Hawaii is not like anywhere else. There is little to no protection afforded to anyone by the judiciary. Laws are enforced in a haphazard, slapdash way. Lots of light sentences and plenty of probation. The police are prone to 'boys will be boys' and 'that's what it is' type of statements and will rarely intervene unless serious violence happens. The judges and courts are less than sympathetic, and large judgements are practically unheard of around here.

Furthermore, all animal issues are sloughed off on the SPCA who are the most clueless and incompetent SPCA staff you'll ever meet. If you want to protect your animals, get a good fence. If you want to protect yourself, get a good stick.

If you encounter an off leash animal, feel free to get pictures or video to prove your case. The animal's owner may or may not appreciate being filmed, YMMV.

HereOnThePrimalEdge was in the right. I also completely agree with glassnumbers.

the only thing i would have done differently is sprayed the dogs with the mace. that would've been the only effective action out of everything that was described.

gypsy69: 2) You should not have brought out your can of mace and threatened their dogs unless one of them did bite or attack you.

Because it is oh so easy to pull out your mace with a dog attached to your forearm.

gypsy69: 7) Had the dog or dogs actually bit or attacked you. Then the police could have made sure those over protective dogs were kept on leashes in the near future.

Awesome for future victims. What about the one attacked or bit? People have been killed by dog attacks. My husband has permanent nerve damage in his right hand from a dog attack. He has dexterity problems, not to mention pain for the last 25 years.

gypsy69: ...You could move your walking habits elsewhere like most locals and Kanaka's have had to do over the years to cater to the Haole and Asains that are moving over....

Are you suggesting there could be haole only parks and paths where locals will not be allowed? Because you do seem to be suggesting that there should be 'locals' only parks and paths where haoles are unwelcome.
