TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo
It has been a common strategy with TMT opponents to try and discredit any TMT supporter using personal attacks. When they disagree with the message they are hearing they find reasons to claim that that person's opinion isn't valid rather than consider their message. There has been a lot of mud slinging from them against people who disagree with them. Some of it is pretty absurd but I'll see it repeated over and over on the internet.

Does PGV supply their load directly into the local grid or is there a reason there are high voltage lines that run from the plant to the North?

The power lines almost immediately split into multiple branches from the transmission substation. Look on Google Earth. I've seen the grid map at MECO. It's interesting to watch, it takes up an entire wall of their monitoring room.

Anyone watch the Live TMT debate tonight? I missed it and wanted to see if there was a video of it somewhere.

You've got me there. I don't know anything about a live debate tonight. Any clues? (E.g., TV, online etc.).

I just heard people talking about it. I managed to find it on Naleo.tv but I don't think they have published the video yet.

I found the video on their facebook page (enjoy the facebook comments):

Thanks, Eric. I haven't watched the video yet but will do. There are a lot of comments but mostly from very few people and the "Space is absolutely fake" comment is more than enough to provide an example of what the current commenters are saying.

"We were helping TMT not violate the law" and "we feel that TMT should not go forward while an appeal is being made". Well the law says that they can go forward unless an injunction is issued. There are other points of law that support the TMT point of view that the anti-TMT crowd doesn't like and misquotes. The law is messy and rarely pleases everyone at once. However the rule of law is preferable to the alternative.

Online "support"? Or personal condolences expressed directly to the family?

It was quite a shock when we were told of his demise. So unexpected. My Mother called me (on the day he died) to make sure his/our ohana here on Moku o Keawe, knew we stand with them in this trying time.

Very surprised this is the first you have heard, Mr. Tom (and others, who purport to be so well advised re: TMT and all that surrounds this case), of his passing. He was one of the main legal minds in this TMT debacle. I do know the stress on him was immense (during our last conversation, a few days before his passing).

May we ALL realize that life is too short, and each and every one of the people involved in this case (on both sides) are human beings, with ohana.

Mahalo for your response, Mr. Tom (and my aloha to Pam, please).

JMO.

Thank you so much for thinking of me Smile

But I'm sorry to hear of someone's death--my condolences to his family and friends.
