This part would be funny if it weren't so screwed up: HEMIC had well over a year to determine their "potential exposure for criminal liability", yet somehow they waited until after issuance [u]and renewal[/i] of the dispensary licenses.
($75K + $50K) * 8 = $1M
HEMIC only covers 7 of the 8 licensees, leaving a tiny possibility that one island will actually get a dispensary ... just as soon as State finishes figuring it out.
Why, it's almost as if the dispensary system was actually designed to be a giant tax mining operation.

Oregon, California and Colorado all made new protection laws that would protect growers in case the feds tried something new.
I think just as Hawaii, told Trump where to stick it on pulling out of climate talks, I'm pretty sure we could tell Sessions to go F' off as well as most states that have medical weed on the books already have.

"Federal law trumps state law". I remember that was the mantra from the prohibitionists a few years ago. Seems that doesn't apply anymore or does it?

That's just the soundbite. Actual policy is "a Higher Law may trump the Will of the People as necssary to Protect the whims of the Privileged Elite".

If only there was a way to connect the taxes generated by state dispensaries into tax cuts for the rich, there might be a change of federal policy.
