The GPS service which provides the signal for GPS receivers to function is owned by the federal government, and is free for unrestricted service - - no monthly service bills or taxes. Other than the taxes you already paid to develop and build the system.

I'll preface my comments by saying (again) I don't know enough about the details of net neutrality and the proposed policy changes to have an informed opinion on the matter - but my question to you TomK is: doesn't it concern you a little that we have highly paid entertainers, and comedians at that, who know F-all about the implications - for good or ill - of the proposed policy changes trying to influence public opinion on those changes? I would think, given our recent experience with the TMT, that you would find it as terrifying as I do...

I agree, some of the more vocal supporters for net neutrality don't seem to have a great degree of background on the issue.
However, when the head of the FCC is a former Verizon executive, and Comcast for one is already scrubbing their website of promises made to customers should net neutrality be voted down, that concerns me more.

I find the corporate wheels behind rescinding net neutrality, people with a great deal of knowledge on the issue and who know EXACTLY what they're doing ($,$,$) to be the ones I'm really worried about.
