What the hell is going on?
#41
Obama and Clinton and many other politicians are surrounded by guns we taxpayers pay for. They also live behind physical walls. If somebody with a gun threatens you, you are likely to call for someone who carries a gun. Until then, you're welcome to your opinion, of course. As for America failing? Why do so many people want to come here to this failed state?

Guns are instruments of evil.

Guns are merely a tool. Gun violence is a symptom of a sick society. Take away all the guns, people will find other ways to express their dissatisfaction.

Using Social Media is Causing Anxiety, Stress and Depression

“Anxiety is now the number one mental health problem on campuses across the country, and therapists are becoming increasingly concerned about social media making things worse.

Cyberbullying and harassment, comparing their lives to classmates, fearing they’re missing out – social media contributes to anxiety and depression in all sorts of different ways. And the more we consume, the more problems it can cause.”

You say you'll change the Constitution, well...

KJ, you can still have the Constitution & regulation of firearms.... You have lived with it ALL OF YOUR LIFE!
& are living with it today!

Guns have been regulated, both locally & federally, in various manners, all of our lives...
Assault riffles were Federally regulated (banned for citizen acquisition) by federal law for decades, now they are not
Sawed-off shotguns are Federally regulation (banned for acquisition & manufacture) by Federal law
Machine guns have been Federally regulated (banned for acquisition) for almost a century, they still are
EVEN THOUGH machine guns were the "weapon of choice" in my ol` hometown during Prohibition... they are now Federally regulated!

Imagine that, we have a Constitution & yet we have lived with Federally regulated firearms.... OH, the marvel of it all!

Yes, imagine that. This give me my guns unregulated blah blah blah is all a bunch of hocus pocus foisted on people by the NRA and gun manufactures for profit. Their profit, at the expense of the citizen's lives. Who in all the universe wants to own objects who's only purpose is to kill? It's insanity. And yet we have people, lots and lots of people spouting lines about their 2nd Amendment rights bah blah blah.. without having a clue about it's history, its actual purpose, other than the gibberish marketeers push down all our throats.

As I said, this would be a far different discussion were the American citizenry mature enough to handle guns. But as it is they are not. They are clearly not, and as such guns have to go.

Considering that the shootings that precipitated this discussion were committed by children - your dig at Americans being immature is myopic at best.

Yes, in fact the word is right in the Constitution: "A well regulated Militia."
Regulated means today, in Puna, just what regulated always meant in Colonial America. Look it up in any Dictionary of Etymology:
1672: control by rule
1715: rule, law

Perhaps it's not just the kids in East Hawaii making out of control remarks and threats against students at Keaau High and Pahoa High. Perhaps there is a lot more going on that's out of control in our society and with our politicians, and teenagers and young adults are taking advantage of a 21st century free-for-all.

Recycle Puna. Humans, although probably not you personally, have already left 400,000 pounds of trash on the moon. - YouTube's Half As Interesting
"I'm at that stage in life where I stay out of discussions. Even if you say 1+1=5, you're right - have fun." - Keanu Reeves

Assault rifles need to be banned. I know it. You know it. Everybody knows it.

I'm all for it. Ban them. The AR-15, as an example (a good example since these mass killers choose it time and time again) was designed to kill large quantities of people quickly. Not good for target shooting accuracy. Bad choice for hunters. Bad choice for home defending. But very good at it's designed purpose. Civilians don't need these.
You want to hunt or target shoot with maximum accuracy? Get a bolt action single shot. Home defense? You don't want a firearm where misses will penetrate your neighbors in their homes.
But, it's a moot point here, since we can't even sight in a firearm. No legal gun ranges.
