Hey Carolann:

A little less than a week ago my wife and I returned from a 10 day vacation to Scottsdale. Small world huh? We stayed at the Doubletree Inn on Scottsdale Rd. Did you see on the news where the road wash occured on Indian Bend Rd and stranded the two cars? That was just down the street from where we were staying. We enjoyed our trip a lot. AZ is a beautiful place too. You guys are moving from one of the driest places in the states to one of the wettest. Man what a contrast. Hope you adjust to the rain ok.

A happy and safe move to you and Tony.

Andrew

Carrie,

I hope Tony is hybrid-certified! We have two Prii and BI Toyota has only one hybrid tech! (The Prii haven't needed much servicing but our new one is having its main computer replaced under warranty.) The service dept. is aching for more help.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Andrew, funny it's so dry here but you end up in Scottsdale during a monsoon! (I was wondering who brought that downpour into the state! LOL) I grew up in Buffalo, New York and really miss the rain...Tony lived on Oahu for two years while in the Corps and has been dreaming of it ever since. The rain will be a welcome thing.

Les - As a matter of fact, Tony is only one of two or three at his dealership with Hybrid Certification. He's a Master Diagnostic as well. They were very welcoming to him at Big Island. They told him the shop is about 20 years back in time, and they don't have all the connections to Toyota since they go through ServCo...but he has his own amazing tools he brings with...he's even gonna put out for a computer connection to the Toyota Information Service on his own Laptop to be able to get information and diagnostic tools they don't provide there in the shop. It will only make his life easier since he is so used to having access to it now, and it just may encourage the shop to come forward a little with their tools. They have had a new Service Manager there since last October or so and he has been making some changes I hear. But - it IS still Hawaii and that may be slow in the making LOL!
