HPP BIZ: Part the second
#81
Excellent old croc.

I see there's a special board meeting on Monday the 5th of November. The forensic analysis and the ballots are on the agenda. Also see lot owners can speak at that meeting. That's a start don't you think?

Leo, old croc, dan d, if anything attend and see how your rep votes. Let the board hear what you have to say. I always like to hear from the members.

This was the September board mtg vote as was posted earlier in this thread:

"My motion was this: D5 is to contact Mr Guenther (forensic analyst) to move forward with the forensic analysis. Motion carried.
Yes D7, D5, D2 and D9. No D3, D6 Abstain D4

As for the ballots.... my motion was: "D5 will contact an atty and pending an affirmative legal review that the proposed bylaw changes are compliant with state law, the board will approve the League of Women Voters to do the ballot counting for $600 and approve $3000 to get the ballots printed by Hawaii Printing Corp." Yes D7, D2, D5 and D9. No D3, D4 and D6. Motion carried."

It's not what they say to you, it's how they vote.

It's on the HPP website. November 5th 6 PM. I see lot owner input on the agenda so that tells me it's an open meeting.

The Halloween in Paradise event was a Hit!!! There were a lot of HPP families enjoying the fun and creating memories from 5-7 PM. There were old fashioned games, treats, an ice cream truck which served delicious ice cream in choices of approx 10 or more exotic flavors. There was also a food truck w/burgers etc.

BIG MAHALO to the twenty two or more volunteers who helped at the event and especially to Kathy Crawford (chairperson) and committee members, Mary Couch and Kim (sorry if I missed anyone) who worked tirelessly on this project against all odds for several months.

Hopefully this event will become an annual HPP tradition... Please think of joining in the fun next year to make another successful event for the keikis.

I hope the board will do a better job next year for the community in advertising it on the website and in the mandatory September Conch newsletter to get more families there to enjoy the event.

I heard all about the Halloween in Paradise. What a wonderful community gathering. Cheers to the people who I am sure worked so hard. This new meeting. When was it posted? Did they ignore the 7 day rule even again? That shows blatant collusion if you ask me. They are not folllowing the rules on purpose just to rub the members faces in it. None of them leared the important lesson in respect. The forensic anlysis was voted on twice. The members are still waiting for the bylaw amendment mailing. How can so many people that won;t follow our bylaws and ignore the members geet on the board. Guess they talk a good game while knowing they have no intentions of doing the members will. Sigh! HPP members, please show up. Do not let them get away with more illegal actions.

The special board meeting started w/ an entirely different agenda than was posted on the website which is against our bylaws. The president and the VP said they didn’t know why the change occurred and that Dist6 board secretary Crelly had changed the agenda (without board approval). Although the majority board did approve the agenda later during the meeting .. Dist 2 and 7 were absent, Dist 5 abstained.

There was catch up to approve past board minutes that got behind due to exec session meetings taking precedence over the past 2 board meetings.

Especially disappointing is that we aren’t getting accurate minutes, ...when a board rep has to argue to get verbiage deleted that didn’t come out of their own mouth and the majority board thinks they have the authority to vote against correcting it, thus creating inaccurate minutes.....truly mind boggling. When retaliation against a board rep takes precedence over ensuring accurate minutes, that's not in the best interest of the association. Now when someone goes to read the minutes on the website, it no longer is reliable information. District reps 6,8,3,4,1 and 9 didn't vote for accurate minutes.

Dist4 rep announced that we were going to hire more road crew and purchase more equipment because it's in the budget. I was surprised and Dist4 rep asked me if I had a problem w/that to which I replied, "YES I do!". I don't recall the board discussing this prior and yet the decision's been made?

The topic to raise our road fees was on the agenda and discussed briefly. Dist8 rep w/no hesitation said he wants it raised 10%. The board was reminded that the Finance Committee has been left out of this discussion and they need to include them before making a board decision. The treasurer disagreed and added that she has been unable to get an FC mtg together bc of lack of quorum. The relationship between the treasurer and the majority of the FC members has had problems. Their upcoming mtg which will be held one day before the board mtg would give them the opportunity to discuss the raising of the road fees, so the discussion to raise road fees was tabled for the 21 Nov board mtg. Dist 9 rep said before we raise any road fees, the board better show the roads are being taken care of first, to which Dist 5 rep concurred.

The agenda hasn't been posted yet...I believe the forensic analysis and the bylaw ballots will be on the agenda under Old Business. Forensic Analysis going on 11 months overdue now and there is NO VALID reason other than board obstruction that has caused this delay. The bylaw amendment ballots are 9 months overdue and there is NO VALID reason other than board obstruction that has caused this delay as well. Both items should have happened long ago as they are the Acts of the Membership. The membership has given permission by majority membership vote (Acts of the Membership) for the board to carry out these 2 items FOR THEM and their not having done so is majority board insubordination.

The Nominating Committee met this week for their first meeting. Dist's 1, 6 and 9 will be up for election...
