an embarrassment to the county and state if private funding could pay for road reconstruction..
Don't worry, the permitting process will make sure this can't happen.

When or where have suggested supporting the permitting process ?
"Assuming $6K/acre for D9 rip-n-roll, that $77K would pay for about 5 miles of road."
Hey dip$hit,
We have pledges for a lot more that that !

Ah, no worries Obie. I was just joshin' you 'cause of your previous 'it's gonna be April and it ain't nobody's business but ours' stance when I was going on how, in my ideals, there would be folks championing the cause of those cut off in that portion of the strip along #132. They ain't home brah. And days count. You go home.. Harry goes home.. and it's easy to say to others wait.
I think this is another blight on county. A abuse of power that has cost some dearly, a few, but hey they deserve equal, right? But, we live in a representative democracy and as such we only have the ballot box and what we can do in terms of active engagement. Like you said the meetings be public brah. But, how many you know got the luxury be going to all the meetings? Seriously?
And Harry, the 'for the people' guy with plenty history in Puna, with lava, with evacuations and the whole nine yards, he should know, intuitively, that throw the guys a few days of a 'dozer and shut up already. But no, he goes home at night and friends of mine still in temporary waiting. Unnecessary waiting.
So I was joshin' you. Pay it no never mind. April will come bumbai.

Obie lost his house under several feet of lava. I don't think he's going "home" anytime soon.

No Tom, I do not think you understand my point. Obie lost his home. The loss and the emotional shock has passed. He has got on with his life. If I remember right he settled into a condo down Keaukaha side. Whereas the folks kept out of their places in the kipuka are not in their own homes. They are not in their own beds. Some with livestock to keep and kids in schools with commutes all screwed up and whatnot. So, sorry, being held in suspension and paying the price isn't the same as getting on with your life. Others without their employment, and many still paying mortgages. And, methinks, county should understand that and the day the bulldozer left Red Road so Harry could do his show n tell it should have gone up #132 side and cut a path across for them folks. Everyday since has just rubbed in how much disrespect county really has for them.

I think I'll let Obie reply to that, I don't profess to know how he feels about losing his home. I think you've already made it clear you claim to know how others feel and what process they support, even if it's completely wrong.
