If anybody is interested here is the link to the 50% off coupon. Not an endorsement other than I can say that coupon worked:

FWIW the lumen ratings on lights is very often fake. Even aside from the fact that light output is difficult to measure in a standard unit, you can often find the same light sold under different brand names with wildly different lumen ratings.

I did a "quick" calculation on the model I bought based on power supply, type and number of CREE LEDs and their output, and came up with a figure of 9600 lumens on a 10,000 lumen flashlight. But based on what I paid, will be happy if I get less than a third of that. However I expect that the full illumination could only occur for a few tens of seconds before the IC chip has to taper the power consumption down (and illumination) to keep the unit or batteries from overheating.

Either way, a trespasser is going to be blind AF for $9.26.

These ridiculously bright flashlights on sale now always makes me think of this:

I've ordered the "10,000 Lumen" flashlight as well. Perhaps I can stand out on Kaloli Point and pretend I'm a lighthouse. But I'm hoping it will scare pigs as well.

Ah yes, where the term "Griswold Knot" was born. Could you imagine untangling those strands every year?

Plenty of videos on YouTube where people have built led arrays from scratch. Some of them would light up the entire puna district... If you had the power to do so.

terracore - where did you order the batteries (and charger) for the Teslacom flashlight?

I already had some, but by coincidence I bought some more just for this flashlight. I haven't tried them out yet, but this is what I bought:

Use the drop down to select the number of batteries and chargers you want. These types of chargers are very slow so if you think you are going to use the flashlight a lot you might want to spend the extra $2 to get two chargers.

I'm charging the batteries now. Since they are shipped without a charge the first charge takes forever. I'll post here if they work or not.
