The "privileged" do not represent us. Race/gender are just window dressing at this point.

BUT...Hawaii's members to the electoral college threw their support
Hillary Clinton won the Hawaii Presidential election in November 2016, Bernie Sanders was not running in that election. That’s why Hawaii’s delegates to the Electoral College cast their votes for her, because she won. The Electoral College is only convened once every four years, for the national presidential election, and that election only.

Race/gender are just window dressing
But it is a more diverse selection of window dressings, wouldn’t you agree? To keep us better entertained while we window shop during elections. Nothing we can get from behind the plate glass anyway.

I'd like to see a popular "instant-runoff" vote at all levels. But everyone has to pass a basic logical reasoning test before the ballot is issued.

As I recall, Hawaii's voters did not want she as their candidate, they wanted Bernie...the Hawaii members to the electoral college threw their support behind a privileged white female...going against the choice of the Hawaii voters...my opinion is those members were obliged to carry out the vote of the people and support the choice of the Hawaii people...in this case they did not. eta...I'm probably confused on the electoral college members and where and how they come into play...I stand corrected

"I guess I should have added the words, "I feel" or "I believe" in front of my previous statement: "Popular vote is the only fair way and takes some of the corruption out of our government.""
This is why the old adage: "If you want to piss off a conservative, lie to them. If you want to piss off a liberal, tell them the truth." Truth has it's roots in facts. Hysteria has it's roots in feelings. "Puna is part of Hawaii and we vote for different levels of government, district, county, state. We don’t have to abolish the counties or the districts to vote for governor, senator, or representative. We don’t require a different form of government to vote at the state level." Not even a close comparison. Hawaii is one state with one party and one voting block. The USA is a collection of 50 states with different voting blocks. eta: content

Not even a close comparison.
My comparison has nothing to do with party or voting blocks. The comparison is: On a state level: Puna District 4 or 5 > Hawaii County > Hawaii State On a national level: Hawaii Representative District 2 > Hawaii State > United States We vote at different levels in both state and national elections already. We always have. We can continue to do so with or without an a Electoral College. Unless you have some information that shows state boundaries can only exist if the Electoral College exists?

Actually honesty is the third rail of politics regardless of party, nothing enrages the voter more than hearing the truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMzd40i8TfA

Hysteria has it's roots in feelings. Nice quotes you dug up. I'm not pissed, nor hyserical, liberal or conservative. It seems you're implying something but what? I'm opinionated and I'd like to see you answer HOTPE's questions. |
