I went to the meeting, first time in umpteen years... There was a good turn out despite our office's decision not to post the agenda on our web site. (We did have a recording secretary)
The meeting was informative, well organized and the homeowners for the most part were cordial & well mannered.
Unfortunately our President, Larry Kawaauhau did not attend. I do not know this man, he may be a wonderful person but if he is unable or unwilling to lead our association...he needs to do the honorable thing and step down.
One other thing that did not sit well with me was Craig C.s announcements. First he withdraw his name to be considered for the finance committee by hollering from the back of the room & at the end of our meeting , more hollering from the back of the room, saying he did not resign his "new" post......his resignation on the 19th was just for the remainder of his current term which expired today........say what? You allow all to think that your district is not being represented and make this kind of announcement at the "end" of our meeting?
You chose not to correct the information posted on our web site? Why?
It was tacky, and in no way helpful to our Association.

I'm sure Mermaid will soon post an overview of the business accomplished.

Thanks for the info Remi. Dan D is right... same old, same old but do appreciate you attending. Can't believe I am saying this but I was actually glad I couldn't be there. With all the resignations, I sure do want to thank those 2 who remained and hope that they work hard to appoint like minded (you know, those who know and follow the bylaws)people. With Larry AWOL (and only until he is needed to cause trouble and ruin something) it is time to be proactive. Waiting to see what Crelly,Larry and the GM will do next then reacting has not worked in 4 years. Get a solid game plan and stick to it. Bullies are bullies and are never going to change but taking away their power is key. They can scream all they want but if they are out numbered they will have to spend umpteen hours to get it back all while a good board plows full steam ahead. We all know that an honest person would not go to the lengths the GM has to forbid the forensic analysis... he is a bully and loving all this chaos. I can only suggest that the 2 good remaining board members get some strong backing. A knowledgeable person who is not going to be intimidated. It is just to bad that a few attorneys(there has to be a few in HPP) won;t step up and help pro bono. It would only benefit the community. What good have the Crelly's done, really. They cause a lot of problems, do a lot of hollering, speak with total inaccurate authority. But have not benefited HPP 1 bit. That is their legacy. Doing No good vs. good. And as for Stillwater here. You sound exactly like one of those former board members who were in on starting this mess back several years ago and still don't know the bylaws. Read them and learn, then comment. Thank you District 5 and 7 board members for all you have been through and for not throwing in the towel.

Katarina (aka) Katherine Crawford... First off -you are no longer a property owner in HPP. You should know I was at the membership meeting and I do own property... The meeting was remarkably interesting there was a former board Member that spoke quite openly reflecting on facts of the two remaining members. One of those directors District 7 was involved in the initiating of a secret lawsuit against our association which would be the property owners road fund monies . Yes I did pursue the statements and saw without a doubt undisputable proof it is fact. The other director D7 Read an application for a gentleman whom was not present to be a member of the finance committee and once again from the crowd the facts that this person had been the treasurer on the board a few years ago and not only bought auction property with our road funds ( which hpp is a non profit) but also took our association to arbitration to the tune of $42,000.00.
But wait to top it all off when the vote was called to allow him to be on the committee I sat and watched both of these directors that you say are the “2 good board Members “ vote to put him back on this committee.......WHY? Oh wait your husband was also part of that arbitration so you won’t have an answer of any value!
As for you thinking I seem familiar to you think what you will but I haven’t been involved in this mess for several years and am quite familiar with the bylaws.

Stillwater you write,
about a person who " took our association to arbitration to the tune of $42,000.00."
what does that tell you? I don't know this man, I don't know you but I do know you do not win at arbitration WITHOUT PROVING YOUR CASE.
If our Board members violate the law, will not cease and/or refuse to step down,
our ONLY LAW ABIDING recourse is to file suite or commence Arbitration proceedings.
Those owners that choose to do so are not the bad guys. the ones that are acting outside the law are. It is costly to sue, it is costly to engage in Arbitration.I thank them!!!
We currently have a horrible mess with our Board. Some see Receivership as a solution. It could be the restart we would all hope for. However, You might want to read the 10 pages of Orchidland's struggle . They had 2 Boards claiming to be the Legal Board...
...we absolutely could be close to this. How did that work out for Orchidland? How many years? 4 I think.....a Master assigned only to be removed due to conflict of interest......no one sure who to pay the road fees to, or not!!
IS THIS TRULY WHAT YOU WANT FOR HPP? Because you are about to get it. Such a disconnect I see..even at the meeting. Nice good , decent people who have worked towards providing mailboxes for all....how can you even consider this now???? 9 places at the podium for our Board members...only 2 sitting...and one, who resigned and hollering that he didn't resign from the back of the room......are you all nuts? Is this the Board you wish to empower with collecting assessments for mail box installations? Where is it in the Bylaws that, even IF we had a functioning board , they have the LEGAL authority to do so???
We have a GM , who according to the newspaper article I read is suing Board members. Is he working with our PAST Board President who did not participate in our semi annual membership meeting? Who in God's name knows. Who are our CURRENT Officers? Have we even had a Board of Director's meeting installing new members and voting IN our new Officers?????
This is serious guys...................my only saving grace is whatever the cost of your insanity......I at least get to divide it by 8850.

Reni,
Yes arbitration does cost the association and it did in that case of this member taking the association to arbitration but not because the association lost quite contrary the association won on all counts however the legal fees our (road monies )were spent to defend the association.THUS No he did not prove his case nor the other 3 members that joined with him! I happy for you feeling great about thanking them I do not!
I am quite up to date on the Orchidland issues and have been seeing as I’ve lived here Forever so I don’t have the need to be schooled on Orchidland.
I agree nice good people working together for the community to facilitate mailboxes however what you fail to mention or maybe you don’t have the knowledge that the remaining 2 of 3 directors are against the mailboxes and insist the road monies and the property can not be utilized for our community and yes they are the ones that seem to have a few people believing they want to make a difference. I also read the paper about the GM suit but that is not applicable to this or any business affairs of Hpp it is not against a director it is against the individual personally...big difference .
Obviously if you follow the bylaws no there are no new directors appointed and the board votes the officer positions but without calling an official board meeting this can not occur.

and this is no concern to you Stillwater ? ???? Only to submit that YOU are on top of understanding our situation ? and Oh yes, and Orchidland.

If the GM of HPPOA is suing an individual, who happens to be a Board of Director of HPPOA, of course it is "applicable" to use your words.

The current dysfunctional Board being involved in installing mailboxes....I believe I made myself clear on where I stand on installation of mail boxes by this dysfunctional Board and why. If the 2 Board members you mention feel the same way at this point in time....good.

And yes, I continue to thank those who try to legally make a difference with our dysfunctional leadership as there is no denying our leadership is dysfunctional.
And no, I did not know the particulars of this case or the case that was brought up at the Gen. meeting.
EGO EGO EGO.... blah blah blah

Reni,
You said it best -you don’t know the particulars -therefore Blah Blah BLAH, ego ego EGO

Stillwater, aren't you that lady from the board, Tanya Seaaver the treasurer you got the road paving job? Was that the reason you signed up? Rant on Facebook, now here. Don't you have better things to do with your time now that you quit the board? You sounded angry at meetings now you sound angry here. Please take your anger somewhere else.
