no illegal dark tinted windows...?

My last safety inspection involved alleged "illegal dark tinted windows"...the inspector informed me, A safety inspection sticker would be issued for an additional $25.00??

question...Is the safety inspection about safety or Money?

Illegal dark windows can be made safe for $25.00 and is therefore rendered Legal... tickets for this are a Joke...safety checks are a JOKE

It’s the inspector who’s a joke. That’s not legal.

sounds to me like you've been scammed... Tinting is either within the legal limits or not - if not, no safety check sticker should be issued... Did the station give you a receipt for that $25?

Turned out, after inspector tested the darkness I was legal, no extra $25.00 charge...

How are there so many "illegal dark tinted windows" have ya'll witnessed here on the Big Isle...including police cars? Maybe the tinting is removed for the safety inspecting secession and then reinstalled? suuure...

eta...It would be interesting to know how many "illegal dark tinted windows" tickets are issued aside from those issued on the Mauna...

A friend in the business explained it to me: the inspection stations have to take a photo of the vehicle showing that the windows aren't overly tinted - so (for a small added fee?) they take the photo with the windows rolled down....

and like most laws in the state, nobody checks or enforces the rule unless "they feel like it"...

Is your post a joke? or a statement to illegal dark tinted windows should not be allowed because the cops might get shot?

Would you want to walk up to a car you cannot see what the occupants are doing if you pulled it over? You just answered your question.
Also, how does one see clearly, such as seeing a pedestrian on the side of the road, at night, with that dark of a tint?

how does one see clearly

Practical "rule of law" concerns are no longer relevant here.
