So, what is Hawaii County doing about recovery?

Looking ahead, we are developing long-term recovery strategies designed to mitigate volcanic risks while supporting economic development and the well-being of families and residents, from keiki to kupuna.

The resulting Recovery Strategic Plan, to be available around the end of the year, will reflect goals and objectives drafted with extensive public input. This will ensure that recovery meets the needs of the community, while spending state funds and anticipated federal assistance with accountability.

I was not directly affected by the eruption, but this is outrageous. Can we stage an occupation of the county building?

Had a dozer guy lined up to give a quote and do the work and the Leilani estates ass. Dissuaded him with their non assistance and negativity. We need help.

Instead of bulldozer work, spend the money on lawyers?

A "Shame on You" front-page ad in the Hawaii Tribune-Herald would be pretty affordable.

Yes, we have one of the 3 houses left. I don't know of any new hot ponds and I highly doubt there are. This video has a good overflight of the new coastline from McKenzie to the Lighthouse. The coastline starts around 27 min. in. There are several new beaches and an amazing one near the Lighthouse. The times I have been out there it's too rough for swimming but the sand is soft.
