"historical trauma" really?

I was more referring to the hysterical incoherent nature of that student protester, apparently trying to blame her [peers?] substance abuse on UH and the TMT, and how it will certainly be ineffectual trying to negotiate with people in that mental state.

"[...] including TMT unless telescopes scheduled for removal are initiated immediately, in a meaningful fashion, who knows...The UH is THE central player..."

The removal process for the two telescopes scheduled for removal has been initiated. They are going through the decommissioning process as we speak. In both those cases, UH is not the central player, it's state law. The third telescope to be removed, assuming Ige's declaration will stand, has not yet been chosen, despite what people read in the media. And please remember, the deal was that the three telescopes are removed by the time TMT is operational in Hawaii.

Then the courts said five telescopes should be removed, again, by the time TMT is operational.

All of this goes away if the TMT is not built here.

Other than Frank, I think most of us understood what you were saying.

UH students were said to comprise a large portion of the protest, which is why the numbers dropped when school went back in session.

Er, how? Ige said three telescopes would be removed by the time the TMT is operational, the supreme court said five but again with the caveat that the TMT is built here. If the TMT is not built here, the deal is no longer valid and goes away. How on earth is that thuggish?
