And where is Harry? Oh, I know, worrying that the young people should still have parties to go to.

COVID-19 disseminated west out of Wuhan, China. That was a fortunate for us in the islands, because had it gone east, it’s likely Honolulu would have been a super spreader point. From there the virus could have spread rapidly throughout the island chain:

So this is what it feels like to be unvaccinated.

Hold on - I forgot to tighten my seat belt, - There.
Haven't got my HDOH email yet but the JH map and HVN say we've now got got 37 confirmed cases in Hawaii now.
11 new cases, 10 on O'ahu and 1 more for Kauai'i.

Make sure you get your trip to Honolulu soon.
You could get kudos for being the one to bring it back with you.

This time, I can no longer participate in the primary.

Remember when it was pointed out that NY is two weeks behind Italy in the development of their outbreak? And the repeated pleas for Hawaii to take this seriously so as to keep us from having to endure the same consequences?

Ok, so imagine this...

When or if it gets that bad. Us older folks will have to step aside. Nobody likes the idea of that. Triage has a cruel way of helping people who have a better chance of survival. Families raising young children should have a chance of not making those children into orphans.

Will the selfish self centered youth be rewarded or appreciate the gift of life or the 2nd chance at life? Perhaps, and its likely they wont realize what someone else gave up so they could live (maybe).

Im still looking at the stats of Germany. What is Germany doing that is working so well.
The US, is actually not doing too bad with death rate/infection rate. yes its bad but its about 1/5 of what Italy around the same time of its infection rate. Maybe we will fare better. Obviously not as well as Germany is doing but time there will also tell.

As was mentioned before by someone else, we dont do all the cheek kissing that you see as a standard greeting in Italy.. back to social distancing seems to have an effect on reducing the spread.

If this disease spreads exponentially, that goes both ways. It couldn't have been here since December if it is only now ramping up. The R0/rate of spread seems to not fit with it being here that early.
