Yeah, I feel like someone would have noticed by now if their x86 supervisor was trying to cross their firewall. Too many nerds out there to miss that, unless the use was very exclusively targeted. And with zero days and backdoors, that could apply to anything intentionally built or otherwise...
When Covid is over we should start having nerd meetups for these discussions. ? And maybe set up some crypto webs of trust and networks and other fun stuff to stick it to the man.

Sounds like *someone* knows >just enough< to be dangerous but not >quite enough< to fix any problems...

Edit Reason: mixed up transmitters and antennas
)
Did the mossad need a C&C server to hide the logs which would have warned the Iranians that their centrifuges had been spinning to fast? no
Would the nsa need a C&C to grab your drive password key or your private key and then modulate that into bad memory instructions making your ram stick into a 800mhz transmitter(GMS) ? no

I mean if we're speculating, all they'd really need to do is read your key in memory and then store it obscured in nvram somewhere. Then when they kick in your door it will be waiting for them.
What were we talking about again? I guess just commit all your hanky panky activities in analog, far from the evil chips.

No one should care about what I do. I don't stop living life because of NSA, I carry lots of tech, talk to people through text because it's preferred by almost everyone. I post, game, and have romances. people with poor mental health and paranoid people in general will find no respit in hiding. In the end you almost certainly have less privacy then when you started.The people who want privacy the most end up on very short lists. short enough that the delusion that you're being "stalked" can really set in. I'm forced to question how much data. Did miss configuring tor once allow them to obtain secret warrant to tap my texts and emails and to buy all the Facebook messages and google searches for the rest of my life? perhaps they cheeped out and sent me some false PGP keys from arch dev team before heart bleed was discovered, and now monitor me in perpetuity.
I think i'll take a break from the internet sorry for schizoposting so hard so fast and so aggressively

Blizzard - if you are dealing with mental health issues, please reach out for help. I'll do what I can and hope others will be able to as well. Although it might not mean much I can assure you the government isn't after you as an individual, there is simply no way they can keep an eye on everyone in the US nor do I think they want to, they are only after terrorists. Let people here help you and I'm sure we can eventually get you into a better place mentally.

Absolutely correct: "they are only after terrorists" -- but the definition of "terrorist" is subject to revision as necessary. This is what makes "surveillance commons" so interesting, unfortunately we're not mature enough as a society.

Yes, our devices can track us. But for the average Punatic why would they? Have you ever called for a cop in Puna? What's the fastest response time, 30, 40 minutes? And by then the crook has moved on, or the disturbance is over. How many car thieves or burglars are caught?
With that in mind, what level of terrorism would an individual need plan or attempt so federal agents would fly interisland from Honolulu to Puna for surveillance? In my opinion if a terrorist plot concerned a plan of action in Puna, the feds wouldn't even bother. Law enforcement response in general takes a minimal approach if "what happens in Puna stays in Puna.
