I'd imagine this will be all of us eventually. Either that or you just aren't susceptible to getting particularly sick from this virus. Some people get ill enough to die, some just get the sniffles, other people get no symptoms at all.
Was he vaccinated?
Genetics makes a huge difference. I wouldn't expect everyone in the entire state to go out of their way for me forever, even if I was susceptible.
How do you think everyone else in the country is dealing with this? They decided they didn't want to be held hostage by this forever. I can see no reason why we still are.
I've been extremely sick multiple times in my life. That's part of life. I think I was put out for over two weeks one time in high school.

He was wondering if the 30 something you knew who was so sick got the Covid vaccine.
The odds are very low for it, first because he got very sick and second because he's a 30 something in Puna.
Restrictions/masks pretty much everywhere in the world will continue through this winter. Beyond that, probably not IMO.
