We went out to see “The Batman” recently. We left before it was over. It was that bad and the $21 for 2 seniors on the bargain day was an ouch.
We have both enjoyed Batman over the years, but this one is a wretched mess: don’t bother to wait for it streaming.
Those studio execs really need to reevaluate what they are spending soooo much money on before they start such a messed up dud.

Yeah, superhero movies in general are getting a little tired, but DC in particular makes a *lot* of duds. I've pretty much hated anything with Superman in it.
Been watching "Severance" on Apple TV, it's a great metaphorical look at work/life balance, corporate culture, etc.

I agree Random Q. I can't remember watching any superhero movie that I thought was good since the first Deadpool.

This is clearly not Hawaii-related, but I thought some here might be interested given the general nature of this thread.
Highest-grossing movies of all time (up to 2020 that is):

What strikes me is how much sci-fi and fantasy movies dominate the list.

I recently found 'Old Boy' which has a shocking twist but that seems to be par for the course with modern Korean cinema.

That link/video is fascinating!
I do wonder, however, if the $ numbers were discounted for inflation how it would read. Surely some of the older films would rank much higher.

I agree, and you probably also have to count on the fact that in the old days you couldn't just download a movie, you had to go and watch it.

Watched the 1883 tv series on Paramount+, good show about a strong woman with lots of hair bleach. Prequel to the Yellowstone series.

Those of you who posted earlier about superhero movies might be interested in a showdown in Hilo between The Flash and HPD. The Flash wasn’t fast enough, our cops won.
From Reddit last night, to mainstream media today, superhero movie actor arrested in Hilo for disorderly conduct toward a woman singing karaoke in a karaoke bar:

Probably was a more interesting scene than anything in his movies.

Saw Nightmare Alley the other night. It's my vote for best film of the year, although I haven't seen Coda yet.
