"I'm all for *freedom* to mask or not to mask; but I really get a good >guffaw< when I see people driving by themselves while wearing a mask."
I was all but attacked by someone who felt like you. I had left Luquin's and had my mask on and drove several hundred feet to Long's and one of the local Psycho's started yelling at me. Telling me what an idiot I was for driving with a mask on.
I have severe allergies and even wear a mask when I do yard work and mow the grass.

"Driving by themselves..." I've gotten so used to wearing a mask that I sometimes forget I have it on until I'm half way home from work! I probably got a few "guffaws" myself but the older I get the less I care about what other people think. Reminds me of a quote, "What other people think of you is none of your business. "

Okay, short trips make sense if for nothing more than being able to remember where you put the damn thing.
I was thinking of the guy I saw on the connector this morning.
Also, I'm sure I do shit that makes people laugh. I'm happy to be a source of humor since laughter really is the best medicine.

Full study on Ivermectin for COVID treatment has been published:
“There’s really no sign of any benefit,” said Dr. David Boulware, an infectious-disease expert at the University of Minnesota.

* Every gas pump has a warning not to use a cell phone while fueling your vehicle. Take a look the next time you fill up in Pahoa, Keaau, or Hilo. Did you know there has never been a single incident of a cell phone starting a fire at a gas pump?
* On December 22,2001, an airline passenger unsuccessfully tried to ignite an explosive hidden in his shoes. Over 20 years later TSA in Hilo, Kona, and everywhere else still require that we remove footwear in order to board a plane.
* Auto insurance companies claim they base our rates on actual risk. For instance, the more miles you drive, the more likely you are to be involved in an accident. And yet during COVID lockdowns when many of us drove 90% less than usual, insurance companies graciously and boisterously announced they would give drivers a 5%! or 10% discount! When you literally were of almost no risk to your insurance company. Even if you did drive, there was almost no one driving on Highway 130 or Highway 11 you could have an accident with. The lack of cars on the road was measurable with seismic equipment.
1) Cell phones don't cause your car to crash either. The idea is that distracted gas pumping is as dangerous as distracted driving. Meh, I would argue that is probably not really the case but it is what it is.
2) I haven't removed my shoes at a TSA checkpoint in years.
3) My auto insurance was lowered 20% during the lockdowns, without the company once asking me if my miles were actually reduced or not. (If they were, they weren't reduced by 20%).

The warning signs posted specifically say sparks or electrical discharge can ignite gasoline fumes or vapors

Removing shoes at airport security is still a requirement for most standard lane passengers in 2022.

My auto insurance was lowered 20% ...
I drove 90% less during 2020, probably 40 miles a month. Got a $10 discount for 6 months.

Removing shoes isnʻt necessary if you have a Known Traveller Number, meaning theyʻve already done a background check on you.
Certainty will be the death of us.

So sparks or electrical discharge can't ignite gasoline fumes or vapors?
"Removing shoes at airport security is still a requirement for most standard lane passengers in 2022"
I guess I'm special, though I have no idea why.

I'm still trying to figure out how to save registration and insurance money on a 1995 Dodge Dakota I drive like 9 times a year, 7 miles at a time, for the last 5 years. The struggle is real.

I've paid for tsa precheck for so long, I had to renew it.
I qualify on age now .
They only way you can get cited for expired registration or inspection is by being in an accident. Paint your truck flat black with spray cans, scrape off the inspection sticker and put non matching license plates on it and your good to go. It's like stealth technology.

did you look at the numbers?
20% less hospitalized
28% less on ventilators of those that were
14% reduced chance of death.
I’ve certainly seen more thorough and convincing studies, but even still I think those are odds most people would take. What do you have to lose, any parasites you might be fond of? The alternative offered by the medical establishment is nothing. No wonder people are taking horse paste.
