Hey all, why don't we all work together to clear out a keiki swimming area on the Shacks side of Poho'iki. Show up with shovels and reef walkers Aug. 23, the same day as the 2nd annual Poho'iki Paka Surf Meet. [][:I][][:X]

Oh, and Kahuna Scott: Talk with Stan Lawrence at Orchidland Surf re: your artificial reef idea... he is an advocate for them... Personally, I wonder how an artificial reef would go over at Kehena... it might produce a killer left... naysayers, don't jump on my case, just imagining... not ready to start the turn-abandoned-vehicles-into-an-artificial-reef program just yet...[8)][:I][:o)][][:0][:X][|)]

Once again, a good place to construct a surfing reef is on the lava flow by Uncle Roberts. It's all brand new geology, with no established marine environment to deal with.

My idea would be to get a rock crusher/conveyor belt like they use at Glover to make gravel. Just crush and convey, gradually building a point. The hole that's excavated would be the new Keiki swim area.
