Puna Sustainability expo this saturday ...

Puna people are adept at creating ways to live lighter on the land, reducing dependence on imported products and services and developing skills and techniques to ensure sustainability.


The Puna Sustainability Expo, Saturday, November 14th in Leilani Estates Community Center, will display many skills and products at work in Puna today. Learn about: gardening and tropical agriculture, water, recycling, shelter, green building systems, green jobs, solar and geothermal energy, transportation, traditional knowledge, herbal medicine.


WHAT: Puna Sustainability Expo

WHEN: Saturday, November 14th

9 am to 5 pm

WHERE: Leilani Estates Community Center,on Moku Street

Attendance is free. All are welcome. Plenty parking.

The campus plaza is right off of the main entrance to the University on Kawili (about 1/2 mile up Kawili from Mehana brewery and Hawaii Community College- about 1 mile up from the light at Kawili & Hwy 11)

I just gave an update on the Sustainability Expo below....considering that we had an amazing storm front this Saturday, there was still a good turnout and a nice mix of vendors and non-profits participating in the 2nd annual event.

Hope you can all make it for the next event next year, enjoy the pics below to preview.
