yes, a very interesting read.

Not yet... I haven't had a use yet. That is soon to change as I am getting ready to put up a shop. I figure to apply it with a long handled "hot dog" roller.
The fact that the glycol carries the borate right through most finishes is very interesting for maintenance applications.
I need to reread the instructions ... on first blush... It looks to me, one may be able to mix this stuff in a vehicle cooling system .... grin
maybe safer than cooking in the back yard on a hot plate - with all the copters and such, Ill keep you posted

That was such an interesting "recipe" I called SB about it right now - he said the P.Glycol is typically used as RV antifreeze in the water tanks so if ingested it is safe (???).... (safer than E. Glycol).
I just got a recipe of molasses and water to kill the fire ants - so we are thinking of subsituting the P. Glycol for the water. (the molasses also helps the plants too!) Any thoughts? I am on a mission to get rid of ants, cockroaches, etc. So far this year we have only seen the flying termites (ONLY! HA ).

Anyone have any info on Hardi-Board siding and how effective it may or may not be?

As a siding is it very effective. It is not kryptonite for termites however.

JW, I belive the large grub you found in fresh wood is from a carpenter bee. I can't remember seeing small ones, so they must hatch already good size. Redwood is their favorite!

I am wondering how safe some of these products are? do they leech into soil, wallboard, subflooring? does it put off fumes that are harmful like carpet, particalboard. Is safe around pets?
I am curious if some of the new green colored treated wood their using in New Orleans that make them termite and mold resistant.
ARE THEIR ANY WOOD'S THAT TERMITES DONT LIKE NATURALY?

How safe?
We might never find out.The medical science is not that good to prove that that particular cancer or lung decease is caused by that particular fume from that particular chemical.
Who would imagine that the stuff in the cabinets on the trailers given to Katrina victims is so horribly harmful!Well, those trailers were not designed to live there permanently. That was the excuse...
It's better not to build with wood to start with.
