Beachboy,he drinks only Muscat wines and doesn't do drugs.[Wink]

Lostboystoy, thank you for the advice of coordinating the dog reservation.

Everyone :what's up with United (to Kona)?
They seem to be having the same price, season or not.

I think, the fact that Kona Vet Services has agreement with United only might has something to do with it.

No airlines are allowed to fly from the mainland to Hawaii with pets in the cabin.. period. It is an issue of AG/Quarantine controls. You can fly interisland on some airlines though with them in the cabin. I wanted my Cavalier to fly in the cabin as she has never flown any other way.

We booked our pets when we bought our tickets months ago. No problem on that. We used our travel agent but we paid with Amex miles.

Lostboytoy, I will keep your advice in mind as we make the trip. A smile works a million ways. [8D]

Can't wait for Monday to get here! Our real estate agent called us today and he is having the house all spruced up for our arrival. Most of all, getting all of the windows washed is a blessing, as nobody has been there to do it the last two months and the house is nothing but walls of windows on the ocean side.

In order to go in the cabin they must be able to fit under your seat or in overhead.
Also check that you can book your dog more than 7 days prior to your flight. It makes booking your flight a little trickier. I would recomend using a travel agent.
Other wise it can be a nightmare.
I only say this because we have only been here for 45 days.
So we just went through it.
Just be patient and smile as your jumping through their hoops.

they will tell you that your dog can't go in the cabin.
But the truth is they are allowed one animal for domestic flights and two for international flights.
They just make it almost impossible to get the one animal on to the flight without alot of people complaining.
And each airline has it's own policey. This is Delta's.

Don't listen to the rumors StillHope
If they had so many animals die they still wouldn't be in buisness
And if my bird (macaw ) can make it fine along with our 6dogs were fine. We were more frazzeled than our kids.

They can now as long as you've arranged for direct release in Kona.

Quote from Ag site: Direct Release on Neighbor Islands: Pets may now qualify for direct release at Kona Airport (Big Island), Kahului Airport (Maui) and Lihue Airport (Kauai).

well don't be discouraged. I have been able to fly a boxer fist class in the seat next to me.
But I had the news media on my side. I was fostering rescue dogs out of Utah. I had a deaf (white) boxer I named frenchy, since she substituted licking and taste for hearing. I taught her sign language and the local news station came and did a story on us. Well the footage got sent to Their sister station in P.A. Their was a couple who had a deaf white boxer that was dying of cancer.
They called the station in S.L.C and it just so happened the camera man who shot the footage answered the phone. To this day we don't know why the call went. Straight to him and not through the normal channels.
Anyways with alot of pesistence and the help of the news media I was able to get frenchy and myself booked on the red eye first class no doubt. I still recieve photo's on the holidays from them.

Thank you again,Lostboystoy.
Just one question : did Frenchy has to wear a sit belt too?
I can not imagine a boxer doing it for a long time ![Smile]
Did they serve her special snacks when everyone else was getting food?
Anything interesting during the flight?

It wold be nice if you'd post it here:
