Great post, Kathy. Marijuana abuse does fry the brain and it probably has an adverse effect on the lungs; just like alcohol abuse frys the liver and brain, or like tobacco abuse frys the lungs, lips, tongue, and throat. Junk food abuse fries the stomach, intestines, and probably the brain, as well as any number of other organs due to the hormones, preservatives, and the miscellaneous products of modern science that goes into them. And because of it all, corruption frys the soul of nations.
It is so true that history produced a considerable number of drug abusers who made great contributions to art, literature, and music, and while many were found dead in the streets without a penny to their name, their lives are celebrated for what they accomplished rather than what they did. It was their life, they lived it according to their standards, they suffered and died because of it, and the world is the ultimate beneficiary of their behavior.

This is the age of internet, (thank goodness).
Cannabis protects the brain and nervous system, slows the aging process, protects the heart against Arythmia, ect, ect. It's a very long list of health benefits.

When something is claimed to be a cure for everything (acupuncture, homeopathy, now cannabis) then usually it's a cure for nothing.
If it really helped against cancer, the drug companies would be all over it, to make money.

I can't recall cannabis ever being promoted as a cancer cure. It has been proven to stimulate the appetite when a person undergoes chemotheropy, however.
The drug companies are all over it, by the way. It has been developed into a pill form called "marinol". Unfortunately, THC isn't as effective when delivered this way, so most patients prefer the "old school" doobie.
Another reason the pharmiceutical industry hasn't embraced "old school" cannabis to make money is it's so easy to grow no one would buy it. That's exactly why they lobby so heavily against legalization.
