SNL Hawaii Skit
#1
Here's what all the talk is about:

So, to those who watched it, does it offend? Is it just humor? Does it hit the right spot?

Aiona must be an astute polititian to not recognize how exageration is a componant of satire.

The skit forgot to mention the canceling of Pahoa High School's annual "March of the Virgins". (One got sick, and the other didn't want to march alone).[Wink]

This reporter was contacting people like myself who had made forum comments on the skit (loved it). I didn't feel I was the best person to represent so I declined the interview. The final story linked above. She only quoted two people, but good quotes.

I sat down and read the some 300 comments to the original Honolulu Advertiser story, and they were pretty interesting.

Looks like Aiona is losing himself votes with this huhu.

By acknowledging the skit and then whining about it, Hawaii leaders actually magnified issues they should have ignored or laughed off. Instead, they drew even more attention to the "truths" behind the jokes. Not good PR imho...

And the skit wasn't even that funny...SNL just isn't what it used to be.

Punafish got it right on all counts. Not that funny and quite unremarkable except for the politicians' whining.

Cheers,
