Diamond Drilling
#11
Thanks for the post StillHope (and contributors)... so did I read that they pretty much guarantee water ANYWHERE IN HPP? We have been collecting everything that we can find on this subject including another related topic on PunaWeb. We have been leaning towards the underground concrete catchment or well and well has been our favored source of water if we can do it.

Also does anyone have general "guestimates" on depth in different parts of HPP (x depth at 4th, x depth at 12th and so forth)? We're getting serious about lots and it's be awesome to have a rule of thumb. We are liking the Kaloli Point area and then like 11th - 19th near Makuu.

I think I answered my own question as I just read this from Daniel:

"Fortunatly finding water in hawaii is very easy. The water table will always be found at sea level or a few inches above sea level. So to know how deep your well will be, all you need to know is your elevation. To help us find an approximate elevation we use USGS elevation maps and a percision surveying altimiter. We usually decline any wells deeper than four hundred feet. As far as salt water, intrusion has not been a problem. There has been two wells in hpp that had a high cloride level. "

Thats right. We've drilled a lot more wells since that thread Blakeboy1. Just give us a call and we can answer all your questions. We're also working on a website. 966-4129

You are welcome,Blakeyboy.

Just letting you know that the permit is valid for 2 years and it's 3 months or more to wait for one.

When I applied for mine,I was not 100% sure about the well. But it was not particularly expensive and I didn't want to waste the time.

Meanwhile I got a free estimate and some time to think it over.

Excellent point. I see it being WELL worthwhile to pull the permit after we buy the lot. Again, thank you. Do you know if we can pull the permit from out of state? We are making pretty frequent trips but want to have some balls rolling before we show up permanently.

Daniel - we will be in touch for sure. Thank you! In the mean time if you have any elevation info for HPP streets or areas it would be helpful. The well depth may just play into our lot selection decision.

Give google earth a try. The elevations are quite accurate. At least ball park.

Excellent suggestion Daniel. I compiled a list of elevations in HPP at the intersection of Makuu and 1st through 33rd for anyone that may find it useful. It is located at the link below:
