John, You could do both! what a better way to celebrate Labor Day - going between 2 great groups of friends :~)
Oh, other than it looks like you may be doing a mite bit of cooking for the OTHER one.... but not even an early Sunday drop in at the beach???

If I drop by, it will be just for an hour or so. I have to get there early to help set up. So I have to be in Kapoho before 1pm and I have a couple of stops to make on the way.

There was RAIN (OK not earth shattering here in Hilo... but this was the FIRST Scuba Sunday in the 2 years we have done it that we had a good hard rainfall... ) luckily that was fairly short-lived & the bunch of us had a great time - even had 2 surfers on near-flat seas... all fun!
Great food, great fun!

the only thing that ended what turned out to be a fun-filled day was the down pour and that didn't happen until early evening. omg! so much food! i went off my diet and had one of those red hot dogs, a piece of mike's b-day cake and some of carey's dessert. delicious!
thanks for keeping scuba/beach fun sunday going!
