Has anyone built their own frame to hold the catchment cover out of the water? I've been pricing the pros, it's about $300 to $350 for the frame. My husband is sure he could build something cheaper...
thanks,

yeah, the center piece that holds the 6 or 8 pieces is around 24 bucks. then use electrical conduit, a bit cheaper than if you buy poles. pretty simple to put together. where are you, might even have one lying around...

We're in Hawaiian Acres.
I can picture the center piece, but how is it all supported? Legs to the ground, or just sitting on the tank edge?
thanks,

Beach balls..... good idea. Makes sense. Cheap too.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I made a little progress on this today. I asked the *right* guy at Home Depot, and he said the hub or center piece was only available at Water Works, and cost about $20 to $80, depending on size. I didn't have time to stop at Waterworks, will call them next...

Seems like with a few "T"s and some PVC pipe you could make a decent frame. PVC is easy to bend if heated for curves.
